Organic Dance
THE ROOTS
Organic dance is the name I’ve applied to these dance sessions, based on my hybrid movement practices as a dancer, specially techniques focused on dance improvisation and organic movement.
The word organic refers to the natural motion of each body, individually - the mover produces movement that is comfortable and satisfying for her/himself.
By being present and aware of the physical body and its sensations, one can free itself by movement, expressing itself without the need of a verbal dialogue.
THE DANCE
These sessions consist on a specific atmosphere that aligns music, visual landscapes and movement proposals in synch with the group energy and the proposed theme of the session.
The main intention is that, each participant expresses the self in its own genuine movement pattern. There is no structured choreography to learn, mandatory experience or strict rules; instead, the participant is invited to embark on a journey of freedom that aligns the physical body with the energetic body, the mental body and wisdom body - as in yoga, referred the 5 koshas: annamaya, pranamaya, manomaya and vijnamaya.
THE MOVERS
Everyone that has a body and a flaming soul is welcome to take part on it.
Open to all body types and ages. If you have a specific health condition that you believe it can be triggered by this sort of practice, please take caution and inform previously. If you feel uncomfortable/ anxious, in pain or tired (emotionally and/or physically), you can pause and observe rather than taking a moving choice.
This is a movement journey for yourself, although we as a group will hold space for each other.
